South Asian PP prices rise as supply is affected by turnarounds / Middle East suppliers push up offer levels: source / High demand for raffia fabrics supports sentiment

South Asian polypropylene is higher than last week, Jan. 22. This is due to the fact that turnarounds are taking place in India and Middle East and are expected soon. Meanwhile, demand for downstream products has increased. PP raffia/injection grades at $965/mt F.R.S.A. Jan. 22 are up $15/mt compared to last week. Market participants reported tradable indications at $960-970/mt. The gap between buying and selling indications, particularly for Middle East origin material, widened. Sources on the market said that indications coming from Middle East sellers have soared to $980-1,010/mt for South Asia while those coming from China have slipped to around $970/mt for India.
