Asian phenol and Acetone prices dropped in
the week to March 21 despite low spot availability. This was despite persistent
demand concerns. Rupees 102-103/kg Rupees 4-4/kg were seen in India's domestic
ex-tank Kandla prices, which were down Rupees by 4-5/kg. Some importers were quoting ex-tank higher at
Rupees 102-153/kg. This was in response to lower prices. An April shipment
of Asian cargo was traded on March 17th at $1,100/mt CFR India. A H2 April
cargo shipment was offered at $1110-1150/mt CFR India. However, a market source
stated that a counterbid was made at $1,090-1,130/mt. This was after the Market
