The CFR Far East Asia price index rose $5/mt in one week, to $1190/mt. This was due to a tightening of supply in China as a result of ongoing maintenance at several plants. A producer stated that the Asian market has also been forced to look for alternative sources of supply in Northeast Asia due to the lack of Chinese ACN at competitive prices. The producer stated that "India continues to be the main driver of demand and accounts for most of the market's buying activity."
