South Asian PP prices lower due to softening demand / CFR South Asia drops $4/mt / Buyers' inventory levels are healthy, but demand is softer

South Asia raffia grades are at $1,004/mt, down $4/mt from the previous week. Demand is still soft. Indian PP buyers said that demand is slow. They do not expect prices to rise before the festive season restocking begins by the end August. "Buyers also are not interested in purchasing fresh material as earlier booked material has been delayed due to container availability." Middle East PP producers said, "Demand definitely is slow. Monsoon impacts the demand. But also buyers have sufficient material on hand to avoid any new buying." Indian producer: "Demand, if it's not great, is at least okay. Some sectors may be slow. But we think that demand will pick up soon as the festive season shopping [will] begin by the end August."
