Asian PP: SE Asia prices stable despite firmer dutiable offers / Indonesia domestic price cuts attract local buyers / Post-holiday activity slowly resumes in China, Vietnam

Asian polypropylene prices were stable in the week ended Feb. 5 amid persistently thin spot activity due to the Lunar New Year and Tet holidays in China and Vietnam, respectively, while Indonesia saw limited buyer interest for import cargo due to discounts on domestic PP cargo as well as weaker-than-expected Ramadan demand. Chinese domestic PP raffia ex-works prices were assessed down Yuan 20/mt day over day and week over week at Yuan 7,370/ mt on Feb. 5. "Downstream factories will be back next week. Starting next Wednesday, prices will recover; they will start to restock," a trader said, attributing this week's easing prices to inventory pressure.
