Asian PVC prices fall by $5 to $15/mt due to soft demand in SE Asia and China / CFR Southeast Asia down $15/mt in a week / CFR India dropped by $40/mt in a week

Prices for polyvinylchloride in Asia were down $5 to $15/mt on the week due to a softening of demand from the Southeast Asian market and China, where discussions are still thin before the September initial offers. The CFR SE Asia and PVC CFR China markers were down $15/mt each to $790/mt as of the Asian close on August 7. SE Asian PVC was seen to be lower this week, as "suppliers are not willing" to lower their offers before the September fresh offers are announced. A South Korean producer highlighted. A Chinese trade source stated that the SE Asian market was experiencing its usual weak demand season.
