Asian Polyoxymethylene Prices Flat amid Stable Supply-Demand Dynamics / Stable supply and weak demand persist / Buyers are seeking lower prices to reflect the low demand

Nov 28, 2024

CIF China polyoxymethylene prices (POM) were stable for the week, at $1.510/mt on Nov. 27. This was below the lowest price offered at $1.520-1,550/mt. Participants on the market noted that the supply-demand dynamic has remained relatively static from last week. A China-based trader said that the market is still seeing flat prices despite stable supply and weaker demand. He added that trading activity has been quiet. A Northeast Asian producer has said that they are struggling to maintain the current offer price. The producer said that "our buyers argue that we should lower our prices to reflect low demand." The producer said that they would wait to see what happens before deciding to reduce their prices.
