Recycled PET price in Southeast Asia increased week-on-week due to fluctuations in PET bale prices. FOB Southeast Asia recycled PET clear flakesand premium-grade flake prices up $10/mt week on week May 15,at $830/mt and $920/mt, respectively, while food-grade pelletswere assessed up $45/mt over the same period at $1,240/mt.FOB Southeast Asia flake and pellet offers were heard largelystable from the prior week, which market sources attributed tothe concluded May sales cycle and also to the firm demand seenin Asia and Europe for bottle-to-bottle applications.Meanwhile, R-PET flake demand for fiber applicationswas heard to be weaker due to the off-season for textilesmanufacturing.Upstream, PET bottle bale prices in Indonesia and Malaysiawere heard higher due to short supply, but lower in Thailand."This week, [we have no] flake offerings due to the baleshortage," a Malaysian recycler...
