South Asian PP prices fall due to lower offers and weak demand / Sellers wait for Oct deals and offers / Geopolitical situation dents downstream exports - Sep 30, 2024

South Asia Raffia-grade polypropylene is down $10/mt from the previous week to $969/mt, CFR South Asia September 25, as the offer levels for this chemical dropped and downstream demand was subdued. "Domestic demand and exports have not increased." An Indian PP buyer noted that the demand is typically higher before India's festival season, but this year was an anomaly. The geopolitical situation has also affected exports. Although the market was stable earlier in September, deal and offer volumes have decreased over the past week. The buyer stated that the arrival of 2,000 mt PP bought earlier has already begun, and they've heavily reduced their buying indications for a Middle East origin cargo.
