Asian LLDPE prices soften amid weak purchasing appetite / The demand continues to slow down / Expected to be more Middle East deals this week

In the week ending August 21, prices continued to fall in Southeast Asia due to a lack of demand. LLDPE film grade was down $20/mt from the previous week to $970/mt by Aug. 21. At the beginning of the week, several new Middle East offers have been heard. Sources expect trading activity to pick up as more Middle East offers are released in the coming days. Despite the weak demand, it is expected that the downward trend will continue. A trader said that "generally speaking, the market sentiment is still bearish" and that prices would likely soften over the coming week.
