Asian Toluene prices rise amid increased buying interest / East China toluene supplies down 4,000 mt in a week / Taiwan's CPC will shut down No.3 BTX Unit in September

On June 7, the FOB Korea toluene markup was $17/mt higher at $938/mt, with multiple bids for cargoes loaded in July. Last heard was a H2 July-loading, 2,000 mt bid at $937/mt on a letter of credit basis. A buyer bid $913/mt FOB Korea for any July-loading 2,000 mt shipment. There were no counter-offers or trades reported. The toluene FOB Korea mark was seen to have increased by $45/mt week-on-week. However, the Chinese market appeared more muted. China domestic prices were said to be up Yuan20/mt on the day, to Yuan 9,605/mt. Domestic enquiries increased, according to market participants. Sources on the market said that incoming cargoes had landed at around Rupees88-89/kg, considering the May FOB Korea average price for toluene plus $125-$130/mt.
