Asian PP : Southeast Asia prices hit new lows for the year on account of weak demand / SEA PP raffia/injection price down $5/mt in a week / Regional producer slashes domestic offers to entice customers

Asian PP markets weakened in the week ending August 7. Prices in China were volatile and correlated with macroeconomic conditions, as well as domestic futures. In Southeast Asia, prices dropped to levels not seen since early January. China's domestic PP raffia prices fell Yuan 20/mt and Yuan60/mt over the course of the week to Yuan 7,560/mt, tracking the movement on the domestic futures markets amid weak underlying demands. CFR China PP raffia/injection PP price was down $10/mt for the day, and by $60/mt for the week to $905/mt August 7, amid competitive offers of import cargo.
