Asian Paraxylene prices find support with oil strengthening / Two November cargoes trade during MOC / Inventories to increase as sales slow

The Asian paraxylene FOB Korea and CFR Taiwan/China markers were $817/mt and $839/mt respectively on Sept. 13. Both marks increased $3.33/mt in one day. On September 13, crude oil futures for November were $0.81/b higher at $72.49/b. PTA futures traded on China's Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange (ZCE) were slightly higher during the second session afternoon trading. The January 2025 contract was up Yuan 6/mt to Yuan 4,882/mt. PX paper also traded slightly higher in the afternoon. During the Market on Close assessment on Sept. 13, two November short haul shipments were traded between Mercuria, GS Caltex, and Hengli & BP at $840/mt. According to a source in China, polyester demand was not very strong within China. It is expected that sales will be lower than the first half of this year....
