The Asian propylene market was stable during the week ending February 28 due to limited trading activity. Chinese buyers were on the sidelines while South Korean supplies remained tight. Southeast Asia, however, saw a growing divide between buyers and sellers. A producer stated that the Daesan incident has affected supply in South Korea, which affects LG Chem and Lotte operations. This results in a tightening of the market. The lack of interest in buying from Chinese buyers has contributed to the calm sentiment on the dollar-denominated markets, as buyers chose domestic supplies at lower prices.
