Asian Propylene prices mostly stable; CFR SE Asia down due to ample supply / SE Asia CFR down $25/mt in a week / Taiwan CPC may restart

RFCC Sep 5. Asian propylene was mostly stable on Aug. 23. However, Southeast Asia prices dropped due to an abundance of supply. Sources say that the SE Asia propylene market is under downward pressure as there has been a surge in sell tenders on the market. This has increased regional supply and pushed down prices. Vietnam's Long Son Petrochemicals has restarted production of polypropylene, and high density polyethylene on August 18. Sources close to the issue said August 21 that the units had been shut down in March due to technical issues. Long Son's annual production capacity is approximately 500,000 mt of ethylene, 250.000 mt of propylene and 500,000 mt each HDPE, LLDPE and PP.
