PHENOL PHENOL's Asian market was slightly
higher in the week ending June 27, as tight supplies supported the price curve. According to sources, several phenol-acetone
units are undergoing turnarounds, which has resulted into a restricted supply
of spot phenol, ultimately helping prices. The prices
in China's domestic market rose by Yuan 100/mt over the past week, to around
Yuan 6,650/mt. CNOOC Shell, a Chinese company, has announced
that it will be reopening its Huizhou phenol-acetone factory in Guangdong
Province in July. Local sources reported that a few other Chinese
producers had paused their production or performed turnarounds. "A
