The price of acrylonitrile in Asia was stable from week to week, Nov. 5. CFR Far East Asia, CFR Southeast Asia, and CFR India were at $1.185/mt each, and $1.195/mt respectively. This is due to the firm prices within China. According to market participants, China's domestic prices rose due to the tightening of supply caused by ongoing production and maintenance issues. A trader said that the market saw a significant drop in parcels leaving China because of firmer domestic pricing. The short-term supply problem in China is temporary, as the acrylonitrile capacity exceeds domestic demand. A market participant stated that additional supplies would be available in the coming months from new plants.
