The Asian paraxylene CFR unv1/China and FOB Korea marks were $1,043.33/mt on May 28 and $1,021.33/mt, respectively. Both markers had fallen 34 cents in the same day. The Asian PX market lacked upward momentum despite firm oil markets. Brent crude July futures rose to $83.39/b from $82.25/b a day earlier. C&F Japan naphtha rose $14/mt to $689.50/mt in one day, narrowing PX-naphtha's spread from $368.17/mt to $353.83/mt. During the Market on Close process, there were offers and bids for cargoes in July and August. South Korean producers such as SK Geocentric (which sold July and august cargoes) and GS Caltex (which sold both July andAugust cargoes) actively supported prices.
