- Sluggish downstream affects buying appetite- Ethylene prices stable

Asian MEG was down $1/mt for
the day, at $506/mt FCL China on April 13. This reflects a trader's tradable
value of between $503 and $510/mt. The Asian MEG market was quiet on April 13 as participants were largely on
the sidelines due to low margins. The sluggish demand for polyester downstream weighed heavily on the
sentiment. Several traders reported that there were only limited inquiries. The upstream ethylene price was stable at $940/mt for CFR Northeast Asia. Brent crude futures for June rose $1.67/b, to $87.27/b, at 4:30 pm Singapore
time (830 GMT), April 13.
