The price of Asian toluene was higher on
July 3 due to the shortages and high prices for domestically produced ex-tank
in China. Toluene prices were rounded up and
averaged over the last two half-months of laycans. This is currently the first
and second halves of August. The Market on Close process did not
include any transparent offers or bids. East China
prompt ex-tank supply higher at Yuan 7210/mt. This is equivalent to $862.79/mt
based on import parity. The price rose by around $19.99/mt
since June 30 due to the increase in consumption taxes. Sources and
