US PP exports rise to a 14-month high amid rising feedstock costs / Spot PGP prices surge above 50 cents/lb / FAS Houston prices at highest level since March 2019

The spot export price of polypropylene reached a record high of more than one year on July 3. Feedstock costs rose during the first few days of July, which also led to higher indications of values. In the period June 26 to July 3, no new indications of spot export value for copolymer PP were heard. Rail car homopolymer value was reported as 51-53 cents/lb or $1,224-1,268/mt FAS Houston on July 2-3. A trader source said that the 53 cents/lb was a good price, and "good volumes" were sold. Another trader said that demand was low, but some buyers were interested. Sources reported that they were interested in buying for Latin American customers, excluding Mexico, at $1,230/mt on a FOB basis. This was normalized into around 51.5 cents/lb after accounting...
