Asian
paraxylene is up $26.66/mt at $1,072.83/mt CFR unv1/China March 20, Sources
said that prices will rise in the coming weeks as supply tightness continues. Sources
said that the main reason for tight supply of PX could be turnarounds and an
anticipated rise in demand for aromatics to the gasoline blending pool before
the US summer driving season. A trader from India stated that Asian PX
prices rose despite China's declining downstream demand. The trader stated
that China's demand isn’t increasing. Some sources claim that supplies of
mixed xylenes (or MX), a key feedstock to producing PX are tightening. China's
Qingdao Lidong reduced the operating rate of its 1,000,000 mt/year paraxylene
