despite the slowdown in the market due to European holidays. On May 18, the five -to-30-day forward delivery laycan of benzene reached
$980.50/mt CIF/ARA, up $20.75/mt from the previous day. The buy interest increased throughout the day of May 17,
particularly in the immediate, as sources indicated that there could be a
squeeze on immediate supplies. Fires in
the US prompted concerns about production interruptions, and strong demand from
