Prices of Asian polypropylene fell on May
10 in China and Southeast Asia. The PP Raffia CFR Southeast Asia mark dropped
$15/mt per week to $1000/mt. The
PP market in China was hit by another round of post holiday malaise as crude
oil prices fell. The domestic market saw a
strong buying interest during the second half of the week. However, this week
the momentum slowed down as the replenishment quotas had been met. The US interest rates rose while crude prices fell.
Downstream inventories of finished products are high. A trader in China said that lower prices would improve
