IBA prices drop for the second week in row / 2-EH Supply constraints ease slightly

The spot price of n-butanol decreased across the week ending April 11, due to improved supply conditions on the European 2-ethylhexanol market and the isobutanol market, as well as a reduced appetite for nbutanol at high prices. The 2-EH and Isobutanol market supply constraints eased a little, while material availability increased throughout the week. The NBA market remained constrained, as producers were heard to have limited supply for certain customers. Imported materials were scarce, as the market expected domestic products to be more available by the end April. The market was not able to generate any demand for isobutanol as buyers did not want to commit to higher-priced material. Demand for 2-EH and N-butanol was stable, with buyers being cautious about high prices. They only bought when they were necessary....
