The benchmark MTBE FOB Straits fell $30/mt on the day to $976/mt, while the MTBE FOB Singapore Factor remained stable at 1.145 during the same time period. The price drop was due to weaker crude, which dropped $2.74/b per day to $86.97/b in April 18. On April 18, the gasoline crack between RON 92 and Brent crude oil was also smaller than it had been on the previous day, falling to 13.94 from 14.29. There were also some high FOB China bids at $965-970/mt FOB South China and $950/mt FOB China for May-loading goods. Sources estimated that the buying interest for May's cargo was around $920/mt on a FOB China basis.
