According to sources, the US spot export polypropylene price fell $33/mt for the day on July 31 and $44/mt for the week ending July 31, a result of weaker fundamentals. On July 26, a notional indication was heard for spot export homopolymer polypropylene at 53-54 cents/lb on a rail car basis. However, no transactions were reported at this level. Spot export homopolymer was still priced at a 2-cent higher than spot export copolymer, despite no indications to the contrary. On July 26, 29, and 31, notional indications at 48 cents/lb were confirmed, with a second notional indicator at 45 cents/lb on July 30.
