Spot prices are unchanged for the week / Upstream Propylene Supply Tightness Eases

In the week ending April 23, European acrylonitrile markets were still experiencing a lack of trading activity due to a persistent lack of interest in buying additional volumes. A distributor stated, "I don't see much demand on the market." According to sources on the market, demand is up from last year but still structurally weak. Due to the Red Sea disruptions and supply shortages, the slight rise in demand fundamentals relative to last year was felt in the derivative markets, such as ABS or acrylic fiber. In addition to a lack in buying interest, different opinions were heard about the supply situation.
