In the week ending April 27, European
oxoalcohol markets continued with weak fundamentals due to a subdued demand for
derivatives. Despite
reduced production due to maintenance and a force majeure event, players said
supply was still long because of a subdued appetite for buying. The European polypropylene market and the acrylonitrile market
also saw a limited impact on the fundamentals, due to the oversupply in all
value chains. The market is tightened by
the outages, but demand is so low that the impact of any reduced production is
negligible. Due to the low demand, there
were only limited price changes on the domestic market. Prices for n-butanol, i-butanol, and 2-ethyl-hexanol were
