MTBE in Asia rose by $15.50/mt from
$884.50/mt to FOB Singapore on May 10, mainly due to a rise in crude oil and a
recovery of gasoline margins. The
July ICE Brent crude futures contract, which closed at $76.31/b in Asia the day
before, was 27 cents/b higher by 4:30 pm Singapore time (830 GMT). After several days of shrinking, the FOB Singapore RON92
gasoline crack to Brent crude futures increased 17.4% from day to day to
$8.16/barrel. The MTBE factor remained
