South Asian PP: Falling as buyers take advantage oversupply / Indian producers offer good discounts to clear stock / Near-term demand on block COPOL is under pressure - Dec 12, 2024

Prices for polypropylene in South Asia fell by $10 from last week's prices to December 11, as suppliers concentrated on liquidating stock. The PP raffia/injection grades were $950/mt at CFR South Asia on Dec. 11, down $10 compared to last week. The assessment was based on a combination of increased trading and indications that buyers were willing to pay lower prices. IPP film and BOPP were assessed at $10-$15/mt less than last week. The gap between the buying and selling indicators has shrunk, and prices are now being traded at show that this is a buyers market. An Indian buyer stated that the domestic market was oversupplied, and Indian suppliers were offering good discounts to liquidate their inventory.
