The phenol market was impacted by low
demand and abundant supplies on May 2. No trade discussions from China were heard as the market was
closed for Labor Day April 29 - May 3. East
China ex-tank supply was last discussed at Yuan 7,600-7650/mt. This represents
a marginal gain of about Yuan 50/mt from week to week. There is not much activity because China and Japan are now
on holiday. Indonesia starts work today,
but it may take another week to get back to normal," said a Southeast Asia
trader. India's ex-tank Kandla talks fell
to Rupees 99/kg, down nearly Rupees 2/kg from week to week. A trader told us that this was around $1,068/mt based on
