The Asian low density plastics market continued to trend upwards in the week ending June 19, amid tighter supply and higher offer prices. LDPE film was up $10/mt from the previous week to $1,160/mt CFR Fareast Asia. CFR Southeast Asia marked was up $35/mt, week over week, at $1.255/mt, on June 19, in Southeast Asia. Sources said that although there were some buyers who were accepting the current price, they were waiting to see if it would drop. Buying signals were heard at $1250/mt which was "much lower" than the offer levels. The unit will be closed for 12 days for maintenance. It was shut down on June 13 morning.
