Asian Styrene Monomer Prices Rise amid Market Concerns about Supply in China / Crude Oil Futures Up 91 Cents/B on Day / Downstream operating rates in China rise

Styrene monomer CFR China & FOB Korea Markers Sep 13: $1,073/mt & $1,058/mt. Both up $4/mt since the previous assessment. Market sources reported that discussions for Asian SM had increased during the day due to concerns about supply in China. In the morning, it was reported that price discussions had not changed much. The futures market however rose in the late afternoon on concerns that an East China SM manufacturer planned to close for maintenance and tighten supply in the area. This could not be confirmed. SM futures at the Dalian Commodity Exchange saw a slight drop in price discussion during the day. The September SM DCE EB2410 contract closed at 8,667 Yuan/mt on Sept. 13 at 3pm Singapore time, up Yuan 23, compared with the previous day. Price discussions...
