Asian PP : SE Asian prices steady on soft demand and tightened supply / Tight supply and weak demand on the local China PP market / Middle East PP offers competing against Chinese cargo in SE Asia

The Chinese polypropylene markets were stable during the week ending Nov. 27 as the ongoing maintenance of major PP factories offset the persistently low end-market demand. A China-based trader stated that "spot prices have been relatively stable in China, but we expect a drop to come up due to season changes and weak demand before the Lunar New Year." The market participants were also pessimistic about the new PP production capacity that is expected to be on stream by the first quarter 2025. Import offers were scarce and CFR FE Asia's raffia/injection at $890/mt remained stable from day to day and week to week.
