Asian PS market stagnates amid low activity- GPPS CFR Southeast Asia falls $10-15/mt in a week- SM Upstream drops $20-25/mt in a weekThe Asia polystyrene markets remained
stable during the week ending May 31. Only GPPS CFR Southeast Asia fell $10/mt
from $1,140/mt. GPPS China remained unchanged at $1100/mt. HIPS China stayed at
$1205/mt while HIPS SE Asia remained at $1240/mt. Domestic prices for GPPS
are around Yuan 8,400/mt which is about $986/mt on import-parity basis. HIPS is
around Yuan 9,100/mt which is $1,061/mt on import-parity basis. Both were quite
stable during the week. The difference
between the GPPS CFR China assessment, and domestic prices on an import parity
basis, was approximately $115/mt. The
offers were the same as last week on the polystyrene expandable markets, which
resulted in unchanged prices. A source
