Asian Propylene prices stable as market stabilises / Limited Talks in Taiwan, South Korea, and SE Asia Markets / Despite abundant spot supply, the CFR China marker is supported

Asian propylene was mostly stable during the week ending Nov. 29. The market stabilized after a significant decline the previous week. Discussions in Taiwan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia were limited. CFR China fell by $5/mt in the first half of the week, to $820/mt. However, it gained ground mid-week and closed at $825/mt on Nov. 29, 2018. Due to an unplanned shutdown of downstream facilities and a major propylene producer who sells domestically, there is still ample spot supply in China. A market source stated that "prices are supported by higher export volumes of finished products, which avoids risks of possible inflated taxes under Trump administration".
