Asian PP: Rangebound amid unchanged Fundamentals / China's market is volatile due to weakening prices in the upstream / Southeast Asian markets remain stable despite persistently low demand

In the week ending Oct. 30, Asian polypropylene held steady as participants observed a muted converter market in Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, the Chinese spot and futures market fluctuated due to lower crude oil prices and propane. The domestic China price fell Yuan 80/mt for the day, but increased Yuan 50/mt over the week to Yuan 7,580/mt October 30. According to market sources, the supply and demand is relatively balanced due to a number of plants that are undergoing maintenance. The market will slow in November and Decemeber, but several new production plants are expected to start in Q4 of 2024.
