Asian Propylene Markets relax on additional supply / Downstream Acrylonitrile China domestic prices jump above Yuan 11,000/mt / Tight Ulsan Market eases as Buyers Fulfill Their Feb Feedstock Needs

Asian propylene was stable to firmer in the week ending January 17. FOB China and CFR China remained at $850/mt each, while CFR Southeast Asia, FOB Japan, and CFR Taiwan rose despite increased supplies from SE Asia, Taiwan, and other producers. According to sources, despite the fact that there are still supply constraints in eastern China, buying interest has dwindled amongst downstream PP buyers due to low margins. ACN producers are likely to benefit from the rising domestic prices in China of acrylonitrile, which is above Yuan 11,00/mt due to an unplanned shutdown of major production units and a delayed restart.
