The price of Asian polypropylene remained stable in the week leading up to November 6, as market participants stayed away from the markets to focus on the US elections. In the week leading up to November 6, the Chinese market was largely stable due to a combination of factors, both push and pull, that kept prices from fluctuating significantly. Supply constraints kept prices supported despite lackluster demand. Delayed plant restarts after maintenance and the postponed startup of a new Chinese plant were cited as reasons for the tighter-than-expected supply situation.
