Asian PP: SE Asian prices stable on soft demand, tightened supply / Tight supply offsets weak demand in China local PP market / Middle East PP offers competitive against Chinese cargo in SE Asia

Prices in the Chinese polypropylene market were stable in the week ended Nov. 27, as ongoing maintenance of major PP plants offset persistently weak end-market demand. "Spot prices in China have been relatively stable, but we anticipate a drop coming up due to seasonal changes and weak demand leading up to the Lunar New Year," a China-based trader said. Market participants also maintained bearishness regarding new PP capacity set to come onstream by the first quarter of 2025. Import offers remained scarce, and the CFR FE Asia raffia/injection grade at $890/mt on Nov. 27, stable day on day and week on week.
