Prices for Asian polypropylene remained stable in the week ending September 18 as participants on the market awaited October delivery offers to gain clarity. Meanwhile, the Chinese market assessed the supply-demand balance following the holiday over the weekend of Sept. 16-17. Sources said that domestic China prices are not seeing any major fluctuations on the spot and futures market as traders return from their Mid-Autumn Festival holidays. Demand is also unchanged. The domestic China raffia market price was unchanged on the day, but up Yuan 20/mt for the week to Yuan 7,420/mt September 18. Sources reported that Chinese consumers showed a strong interest in purchasing raffia in September, as local holidays in October and September prompted restocking amid low prices.
