Asian PP : China's market stable amid maintenance work and new capacity / Mixed views on pricing in SE Asia / Philippines' JG Summit plans on shutting down BTX and naphtha crackers by the end of December

Prices on the China polypropylene markets were stable during the week of Nov. 13 as the spot supply tightened due to plant maintenance and the expectation of new capacity. The tightening of supply in China due to multiple plant maintenance has kept spot prices stable. However, the outlook for PP is a bit gloomy as new PP capacity will likely have a negative impact on the overall demand-supply balance. A trader stated that a rebound in the demand for finished products is necessary, or else prices will not increase significantly as we move into 2025 due to an oversupply. CFR FE Asia raffia/injection grades were stable for the day as well as the week on November 13. They stood at $890/mt. Southeast Asia PP was also stable during the week...
