Sources close to the company have confirmed that JG Summit has closed its naphtha fedsteam cracker in the Philippines on May 9 because of technical issues. The cracker is capable of producing 480,000 mt/year ethylene, 220,000 mt/year propylene, and 70,000-80,000mt/year butadiene. The same source said, "We're aiming to restart on the weekend...we have already prepared for restart. So [it isn't a big issue]." We will evaluate further to determine if we are able to issue a June BTX sale tender later.
