According to trading sources, Asian toluene
prices rose on April 11, due to tight supply and steady demand. Toluene prices have been supported by a lack of
spot availability. Domestic east Chinaprompts ex-tank supplies were
higher Yuan90/mt on the session at Yuan 7.510/mt. This equates to
$941.94/mt based on an import-parity basis. April
ex-tank supplies were discussed at Yuan 7,510-7520/mt, while May was at Yuan
7,560-7.580/mt. Trading sources said that the rise in China
inventories was to blame. Sources said that inventories fell in
April, with east China dropping 10,000/mt, while May was higher at Yuan
7,560-7,580/mt. This is due to lower China inventory levels. Sellers with
cargoes held at levels above $50-60/mt based on buying indications. Market
