A source reported that the FOB Singapore
MTBE prices fell by $22/mt per day, to $956/mt in May 30. This was because
demand weakened as a result of a surplus on the market. Total offered $957/mt at
the Market on Close Assessment Process on May 30 for 2,000mt of MTBE for July
5-9. Vitol offered $968/mt at the Market on Close Assessment Process on May 30
for 2,000mt of MTBE for July 5-9. The MOC
assessment on May 30, however, saw no trading and the FOB Singapore marker
assessed at $956/mt. This was below the offers of $957/mt or $968/mt. A trader stated that the arbitrage window remains closed due
