Asian
isomer-grade mixedxylene was down $9.75/mt to $939.75/mt FOB Korea. It was also
down $10.75/mt to $961.75/mt CRU Unv1 and $10/mt to $951.50/mt CRU China on
March 20. This was in response the low crude oil prices. The May ICE Brent
crude oil futures contract fell $5.1/b to $70.34/lb at 4:30pm Singapore time.
This was a result of weaker crude oil prices. Asian paraxylene was up
$26.66/mt at $1,072.83/mt CFR unv1/China March 20, Sources said that
prices will rise in the coming weeks as supply tightness continues. The
PX-MX spread jumped $36.41/mt up to $133.08/mt. This is the largest increase
since Dec. 30, 2022, when it was $137.50-153.75/mt. Trade sources in China
indicated that they expected the supply of PX to be tighter...
