In the week ended May 3, Asian propylene prices were either stable or softer, amid mixed opinions on the near-term prospects. Sources said that the focus was on monitoring the situation of supply post-holiday. The operational restart of Chinese propane dehydrogenation facilities will increase the propylene supply to the region. A trader stated that the overall demand for propylene was slow, despite some downstream sectors, like acrylonitrile, seeing strong production margins and supply-driven support.
