The Asian polypropylene markets were stable in the weekended March 5, reflecting prevailing market sentiment.Dalian futures fell Yuan 9/mt in the week ended March 5 forthe actively settled May contracts to Yuan 7,307/mt ex-tank,according to Dalian Commodity Exchange.Meanwhile, in Indonesia, buying interest remains lacklusterbecause of looming road restrictions ahead of Ramadanfestivities, complicating cargo delivery and raising buyer costs toobtain goods over March 5-April 21.In plant news, Sipchem and LyondellBasell are alreadyunderway with a project to expand propylene and PP productionat their subsidiary Al Waha Petrochemicals in Jubail, awarding anengineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract valuedat $169 million for the expansion work to SGC E&C Co. and SGCArabia Co. in August last year.The project upgrade is scheduled for completion in 28 monthsand is planned to expand the propane dehydrogenation (PDH)unit's output...
