ACETONE/PHENOL - The FD Northwest Europe
acetone price was Eur975/mt in June, down Eur25/mt from the previous week. This
is at the lower end of a producer indicated range, heard to be Eur975-1.025/mt.
A trader confirmed this, as well as moving below a distribution range, heard to
be Eur980-1,000/mt. Acetone supply is healthy, but demand
for the product was weak. Phenol premium over benzene is stable
in Europe, at EUR350/mt NWE. This value was confirmed by both a trader and
producer. A producer stated that the demand for phenol is
low, and production rates are decreasing. He added that operating rates should
